Gulf Shores Tops Growing Alabama Cities List

AL.com recently reported that cities across Alabama “are growing like wildfire,” with Gulf Shores tops growing Alabama cities list at No. 1. Baldwin County is the state’s fastest-growing county through 2010-2020 and home to five of the top 11, including three of the top five, fastest-growing cities in Alabama. Gulf Shores grew at 54% and is now home to just over 15,000. Spanish Fort was No. 2, with a 48% growth rate, topping 10,000 in 2020. Fairhope, Foley and Daphne were also near the top of the list, as was Saraland across the bay. In terms of Alabama’s largest cities, Fairhope and Foley both moved up 11 spots: Fairhope moved to No. 26 and Foley to No. 32.
