United Orders 70 Airbus Planes

United Airlines has placed an order for 70 of Airbus’ A321neo aircraft, a “significant number” of which are to be produced at Airbus’ U.S. Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL.com reported. The aircraft will feature customizable lighting intended to reduce jet lag, sidewall panels for extra personal space at shoulder level, completely integrated window shades, LED lighting, large overhead bins and lavatories with hygienic touchless features and antimicrobial surfaces. To complement United’s future A321XLR aircraft, the A321neo is to help lower United’s carbon footprint. Airbus said United has already ordered 50 of its A321XLR aircraft. The manufacturer has 7,400 firm orders from 121 customers for the A320neo, it added.
