Alabama Beach Tourism Marks Another Record Year

President and CEO of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Tourism Herb Malone announced another record year for Alabama beaches, WKRG reported. Occupancy rates of condominiums, beach houses and other rental properties in June and July were near 100%, he said. While August numbers were not yet official, Malone said they were trending in the same direction. When asked how the pandemic affected the number of tourists, he said, “Whenever we are having bad times, people don’t want to stay home. They’re going to get out and go somewhere.”
