Jimmy Green Junior Tour Breaks Records

The Jimmy Green Junior Tour held its first event of the season on June 2. The Maitre & Crabtree Dental Kickoff at Mobile’s Azalea City Golf Course broke a tour record with 108 junior golfers aged 8-18. The 18-hole divisions (ages 13-18) featured 70 golfers. Tour Director Jay Stubbs worked with the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) to get the 18-hole divisions sanctioned for Alabama Junior Golf ranking points. In addition to the division winners, overall AGA places for boys are: Stephen Baker (first), John Stubbs (second) and Buddy Fleming (third). For girls, they are: Ashlynd Madden (first), Anna King (second) and Frances Brown (third). The next event is the Dew Sweepers Junior Classic on June 15 at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Course. Next is the Alex Huffman Golf Academy Junior Open on June 26, followed by the Bay Business News Classic on July 6 and the Terry Thompson Chevrolet Open on July 13.
