The MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians recently cut the ribbon on a playground and trail on Red Fox Road on tribal land near Mount Vernon, Call News reports. The band sought and received grants totaling $547,000 for the modern playground for children, plus a concrete walking trail that encircles the area. Granters included the federal government, the Mobile County Commission and the Gulf Coast RC&D Council. The designer was Driven Engineering, and construction by S.C. Stagner Contracting Inc. took approximately one year to complete.
