Moonpie Over Mobile Names Musical Headliner

New Orleans’ Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will be the musical headliner during the return of theMoonPie Over Mobile celebration on December 31, AL.com reports. The event, for which festivities start at 8 p.m., features the descent of a large illuminated MoonPie from the RSA Trustmark building as the countdown to midnight takes place on December 31. The 2011 Grammy Award nominee is scheduled to play around 11 p.m. at Bienville Square. The organizer, nonprofit Events Mobile Inc., called Trombone Shorty “part Jimi Hendrix, part James Brown and all New Orleans.”
