$67 Million In GOMESA Funding Announced

Gov. Kay Ivey recently announced more than $67 million from Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA) offshore oil and gas lease revenues to fund 25 coastal Alabama projects, AL.com is among outlets to report. The projects range from sewer and water infrastructure improvements to recreational access improvements. Those receiving the most funds are Bayfront Park Amphitheater and Park Improvements in Daphne ($7.2 million), the Perdido Watershed Land Acquisition Fund in Perdido ($7 million), West Fowl River and Heron Bay Land Acquisition (4,740 acres) in Mobile County ($5.214 million), Graham Creek Nature Preserve Expansion ($5 million), The Launch at CR6 Boat Ramp in Baldwin County ($4.82 million) and the Cedar Point Boat Ramp in Mobile County ($4.3 million). Eleven public access and park improvement projects are included.
