Orange Beach’s Clemons Named Bowling Coach Of The Year

Orange Beach High School’s head bowling coach Phill Clemons was named coach of the year for the Alabama High School Bowling Coaches Association’s (AHSBCA) girls’ Class 1A-5A, Gulf Coast Media reported. The Makos took home a Red Map trophy as state runners-up from the Class 1A-5A tournament at Bowlero Mobile for their first state championship trophy in bowling program history. Clemons, who also coaches football at the school, has 25 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level and has been a motivational speaker and life coach. He also led the team to be AHSBCA’s top-ranked team in the state from the final regular season poll for the girls’ Class 1A-5A division. Local teams Bayshore Christian and Elberta were Nos. 3 and 10, respectively.
