MSO To Perform Messiah

The Mobile Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will perform George Frideric Handel’s Messiah on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 27 at 2:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile. “We celebrate the joy and renewal of spring with an uplifting performance of Handel’s most beloved oratorio. A cherished tradition in many countries, Messiah tells the story of Christ’s birth, passion and resurrection through sublime choruses, stirring arias and majestic orchestration,” MSO Music Director Scott Speck explains. The orchestra will be joined by the University of South Alabama (USA) Concert Choir and the Mobile Opera Chorus, both conducted by Dr. Laura Moore, chair of the music department and director of choral activities at USA. General admission starts at $20, and student tickets are $10. Concertgoers may enjoy an informative pre-concert talk beginning an hour before each performance in Room 1927 adjacent to the Saenger entrance on Joachim Street.
