City Of Mobile Cuts Ribbon On Greenway Trail, Japanese Garden Upgrades

City of Mobile officials recently opened the newest section of the Three Mile Creek Greenway Trail and showcased recent upgrades at the Mobile Japanese Garden. The ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrated the completion of a 3/4-mile segment of the Three Mile Creek Greenway Trail, which will serve as the western trailhead and connect directly to the garden. In addition, the city has made significant accessibility upgrades to the parking facilities at the garden and improved pedestrian access to the trail itself. This $1.7-million project was funded by a grant from the Alabama Department of Transportation and the City’s Capital Improvement Program, with support from District 7 Councilwoman Gina Gregory. McElhenney Construction Co. was the contractor leading the project, which was designed by McCrory & Williams Inc. The City of Mobile’s Department of Programs and Project Management led the project and is overseeing the implementation of the entire trail.
