GRECS’ Voices Of Alabama Podcast To Launch In Spring

Gulf Regional Early Childhood Services (GRECS) has announced it will launch Voices of Alabama, a podcast on early childhood culture, learning and belonging, during the National Week of the Young Child on April 17, 2026. The humanities-based podcast will celebrate Alabama’s families by, GRECS says, “uplifting the diverse truths that shape early learning experiences across the state.” Funded by the Alabama Humanities Alliance, Voices of Alabama will explore how culture, history, community traditions and lived experiences influence parenting, early childhood development and children’s sense of belonging. The series will feature conversations with parents, caregivers, educators, community leaders and scholars from regions throughout Alabama. “This project is about truth-telling,” GRECS Project Director Jessica Stinson said. “By listening to families from different regions and cultural backgrounds, we gain a deeper understanding of how early learning is shaped not only by classrooms, but [also] by front porches, dinner tables, faith traditions, migration stories and community ties.”
