ACF Announces Wetlands Compliance Workshops

The Alabama Coastal Foundation (ACF) has announced wetlands compliance workshops for August 8 at the Weeks Bay Resource Center in Fairhope and August 20 at the Mobile Area Association of Realtors in Mobile. These events provide required continuing education credits for realtors, planners, developers and attorneys involved with land-use activities. Held every other year, the workshops teach professionals how to define and identify wetlands, the intricacies of permitting with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and how to navigate state regulations and policies. Attendees are provided with examples of compliance case studies for a better understanding of how the process works. Based on real case studies, the workshops provide useful information to lawyers, realtors, contractors and developers. Participants learn from experts from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, USACE, Hand Arendall Harrison Sale and Thompson Engineering. Registration is $40 and includes training materials and refreshments.
