Bayou La Batre Docks Redevelopment Begins

The Bayou La Batre City Docks Redevelopment Project recently kicked off, The Connection reported. The first of three phases, this one provides for a redevelopment master plan and is to be completed in summer 2021. An opinion survey to gather ideas and suggestions is available until October 31. The goal of the $21-million, multiyear RESTORE Act project “is to meet current and future economic, environmental and recreational needs by planning sustainable retail and commercial developments and recreational opportunities that support ecotourism, fishing industries and aquaculture,” the redevelopment website explains.
