Art In The Park Announced

The 53rd Annual Art in the Park will take place on May 10 and 11 at Heritage Park in Downtown Foley. The festival will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 10 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 11. Sponsored by the Foley Art Center, this juried fine arts show features the work of more than 80 skilled artists. Visitors can find unique creations crafted in various mediums such as intricate pen-and-ink drawings, oil paintings, watercolors, handcrafted pottery, stained glass, carved wood, porcelain, colorful fused glass, soft textiles and jewelry. There will be hands-on activities and face painting for children in an expanded dedicated children’s area, and there will be a local children’s art exhibition from Foley Middle and High schools and Elberta High School. The festival artwork for the next year is chosen from this exhibit. Laila Al-Biyati, whose artwork is used for this year’s iteration, will be present to sign shirts on the morning of May 10.
