Artys Announced For Mobile

The Artys, what organizer Mobile Arts Council says is Mobile’s only awards program that acknowledges the contributions made to the arts and cultural community across all realms of the arts, is taking place on April 6 at Soul Kitchen in Downtown Mobile. The 18th-annual event recognizes the creative achievements of individuals, organizations and businesses. This year, Nadine Andrews, Christy LeGros, the City of Mobile Parks & Recreation Department, Showbiz Theatrical Services, Nat Johnson, The PACT Theatre Co., Steve Joynt (Mobile Mask), Symone French, the Mobile Botanical Gardens, Michael Smith and Karen Carr, Nancy Goodman, and Eva Golson are being honored. The awards themselves were created by local glassblowers Muffinjaw Designs. Tickets are available for the event at $50 in advance and $65 at the door. A cash bar will be available, and there will be live performances by local musicians, dance companies and theaters, with pre-ceremony entertainment by Disco Lemonade. Sponsorships are available.
