Classical Ballet Of Mobile Hires Artistic, Ballet Advisor

Classical Ballet of Mobile has announced the appointment of Olivia MacKinnon as its ballet and artistic advisor. A Mobile native, MacKinnon is a soloist with the New York City Ballet (NYCB) and on the instruction staff for the School of American Ballet. During the summers of 2008 and 2009, she attended the summer sessions at the School of American Ballet, the official school of NYCB, and enrolled as a full-time student in fall 2010. She became an NYCB apprentice in November 2012 and joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in October 2013. She was promoted to soloist in April 2023. MacKinnon said she is “thrilled to be joining Classical Ballet of Mobile during this time of growth and rebirth for the academy. Cultivating the next generation is a blessing, and I’m looking forward to watching these dancers flourish alongside [the company’s] skilled and dedicated staff.”
