Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival Coming Up

Mobile’s 28th annual Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival will present three nights of music at the Temple Downtown, AL.com reports. Major upcoming festival events include the Hosea London Jazz Music Education Award Gala, which starts at 7 p.m. on July 24. The event will feature music by the Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp Orchestra. Night one of “Jazz in the City” starts at 7 p.m. on July 25. The concert will feature jazz flutist Kim Scott, along with the Brass Queens and pianist Madoca. Night two of “Jazz in the City” starts at 5 p.m. on July 26, at the Temple Downtown. Titled “Celebrating Mobile Music Legends,” it will feature the Excelsior Band, Joe Lewis, Mitch Rencher performing a Jimmy Buffett Revue and Doug Breau performing a medley of Ward Swingle songs.
