Gulf Shores Winter Concert Lineup Announced

The City of Gulf Shores has announced its 2024 Winter Concert Series lineup. Shows will be held at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center starting at 7 p.m. First is “Get Ready – A Motown Experience” for January 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. Harmonies reminiscent of classic vocal ensembles like the Four Tops or Supremes; intricate dance moves worthy of the Temptations or the Jackson Five; and costuming that rivals the stylish matching outfits that defined the great Motown acts of the 1960s are billed. The Four Freshmen will be performing on February 5 and 6. This jazz band is “centered around a tight four-part vocal blend, like barbershop but jazzier,” the city said. Sister Hazel will perform on February 15 and 16. The band topped the adult alternative charts in summer 1997, and the success propelled their album to platinum status. Since, it has become firmly established not only in rock and alternative music, but now in country, with four consecutive Billboard Top Country Album Chart entries. Paul Thorn will be at the civic center on February 22 with his brand of “roots” music described as “bluesy, rocking, and thoroughly Southern American, yet also speaking universal truths.”
