Gulfquest Announces Gulfchats

MOBILE, Ala. — The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico (GulfQuest) has announced that, on the second Thursday of each month this spring, it has begun holding a GulfChat series offering “food for thought on our ever-changing waterfront through… conversations on topics about biodiversity, the role of Merchant Marines and coastal culture.” The next iteration, on May 12 at 6 p.m. in advance of National Maritime Day (May 22), will feature Deacon John Archer and a discussion around the role of the Merchant Marine during times of war. Archer, who is Stella Maris port chaplain in the Port of Mobile, will also offer insights into the lives of the dozens of international sailors who regularly enter Mobile through its port. The event will also be streamed live on social media. All GulfChats are taking place at GulfQuest in Downtown Mobile.
