Gulfquest Announces Next Gulfchat

MOBILE, Ala. — The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico (GulfQuest) has announced its June GulfChat, an encore presentation by John Sledge, local author and historian. His topic is “Cultures of the Gulf,” which may include a talk on the possibility that a Welsh explorer discovered the New World three centuries before Columbus via Mobile Bay, a cookbook Sledge reviewed for AL.com, or pirates and shipwrecks on the Mobile River. The event is taking place at GulfQuest’s Riverside Room in Downtown Mobile on June 9 at 6 p.m. It will also have virtual attendance options, which will be announced on social media.
