Lark To Be Special Guest At Beethoven & Blue Jeans

MOBILE, Ala — The Mobile Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is holding its 25th Anniversary Beethoven & Blue Jeans concert on November 19 at 7:30 p.m. and November 20 at 2:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile. This year’s performance features Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and Kentucky-born violinist Tessa Lark playing a bluegrass-inspired concerto written for her. Lark “has roots in bluegrass, as well as classical music,” MSO Music Director Scott Speck said. “The great American composer Michael Torke took advantage of these bluegrass connections when he created his violin concerto Sky especially for her.” Tickets to individual concerts are $20-$89, and five-concert season memberships are $85-$340. Student tickets are $10, with students in grade school being able to attend any classical Sunday performances for free when accompanied by a paying adult through MSO’s Big Red Ticket program, sponsored by the Alabama Power Foundation.
