MAC Announces May Exhibits

The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) has announced its May exhibits to hang in the MAC Gallery, Room 1927 at 6 South Joachim Street in Mobile, from May 5 through 30. Internationally acclaimed Mobile-based photographer Dan Domenzain’s show features people who make up our local landscape who may go unnoticed. His work highlights moments of authenticity and presence. “Our Southern Souls,” the work of established Mobile artist Kathleen Kirk Stoves, is inspired by Lynn Oldshue’s storytelling. In a series of oil portraits, Stoves aims to capture the essence of OIdshue’s interviewees by reflecting the depth, humanity and shared experiences that bind us together. Profits from any paintings sold will go to the Love All Pantry in Mobile. A public reception will be held during LoDa Artwalk from 6 to 9 p.m. on May 8, when Oldshue will also be in the gallery along with her Our Southern Souls book.
