MadeInMobileAl.com Goes Live

As the social distancing order took place, local Mike Callahan saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between artists and buyers in Mobile’s art scene by creating MadeInMobileAl.com, a website that allows Mobile artists to display and sell their art. Callahan explained to WKRG what inspired him: “Because Artwalk was canceled, and art and craft shows around this area [are what] these artists depend on. This is their livelihood. Some of them, it’s their main source of income; some, it’s a side income for them. But that creativity doesn’t stop just because you can’t set up a tent.” The website offers local artists membership plans, then offers assistance with writing descriptions, handling transactions, helping determine the best shipping methods for their products and providing additional marketing and business advice tailored to the artists’ needs. The locally made products on offer include jewelry, clothing and paintings.
