MMoA Offers Free Thursday Admission Through August 31
The Mobile Museum of Art (MMoA) received a grant from The Caring Foundation of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama to offer free general admission to all Alabama residents every Thursday through August 31. “Last year’s summer access program propelled us to record-breaking attendance,” MMoA Executive Director Jon Carfagno said. “With admissions that are outpacing our previous heights, we are so excited that the upward trend is continuing. This generous gift from The Caring Foundation will allow our team to extend the reach of our very popular current exhibitions ‘Louise NevelsonDawn to Dusk’ and ‘Aminah RobinsonJourneys Home, A Visual Memoir,’ as well as our recently reimagined ‘For Children’ gallery.” This announcement follows other initiatives MMoA has offered this summerFree Thursdays, supported by the Mobile County Commission, allow Mobile County residents free entry every Thursday; through Museums for All, individuals receiving SNAP benefits and up to four guests can enter for free; the Blue Star Museums program provides free admission for active-duty military, veterans and up to four guests through September 5; and MMoA offers free summer admission to teachers and first responders, who can also bring up to four guests, also through September 5.
