MMofA Art Talk Coming Up

The Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) is holding an art talk with Mobile artist and Executive Director of the Mobile Arts Council Lucy Gafford on October 5 at 6:30 p.m at MMofA. Gafford will talk about her creative journey from idea to completion of the Fantastical Forest exhibit. This interactive installation explores where nature and art meet. Gafford designed the site-specific installation, and it was funded by area organizations. Local artists Ben Kaiser and Vanessa Quintana aided in its creation, as did The Company Retreat and Octopus Prime for audio design. It is interwoven with Alabama’s State Board of Education standards: themes of ecology and the importance of the environment, mathematics, geography, language arts, creative writing and visual arts.
