MMofA Grant Offers Free Admission

The Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) recently received a grant from the Caring Foundation of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama to enable it to offer free general admission to all Alabamians every Thursday from March 1 through May 31. MMofA has offered free general admission on Thursdays for the past 10 years but only for Mobile County residents. The expense for Mobile County residents’ visits continue to be made possible by the City of Mobile and Mobile County. In the past two years, more than 5,000 Alabamians visited the museum on Thursdays, and from fiscal year 2021 (October 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021) to fiscal year 2022 (October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022), MMofA saw a 40.59% increase in attendance in Alabamians on “Free Thursdays.”
