MMofA Offering Several Free Admission Programs

The Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) has announced a series of free admission programs. A year-round favorite, “Free Thursdays” allows Mobile County residents to visit the Museum at no cost every Thursday with proof of residence. This program, which began in 2015, is supported by the Mobile County Commission. Another returning program is “Blue Star Museum,” which offers free admission to active-duty military personnel, veterans and their families (up to four guests). This seasonal program runs from Armed Forces Day (May 17) through Labor Day (September 1). Similarly, MMofA has begun offering free summer admission to teachers and first responders—including nurses and fire, police and emergency medical services personnel—through August 30. A valid school or institutional ID is required for entry. Each eligible guest may bring up to four accompanying visitors. Additionally, MMofA has joined Museums for All, a national initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Association of Children’s Museums. The program provides free general admission to individuals receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)benefits. Up to four people per visit may enter for free with presentation of a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer card.
