MMofA To Celebrate Earth Day

The Mobile Museum of Art (MMofA) is holding a free Earth Day celebration on April 20 beginning at noon in collaboration with the Mobile Japanese Gardens for a family-friendly recycled art activity. Visitors to MMofA will use recyclable materials like plastic and paper bags to create a koinobori (carp or koi in Japanese) windsock in celebration of Japan’s National Children’s Day, when families fly giant carp windsocks on flagpoles next to their homes from April to May as a symbol of perseverance, hoping their children will be as spirited and determined as the strong carp that swims upstream through powerful waterfalls.
