Mobile Arts Council (MAC) Awards Community Grants, Adds Coordinator

The MAC recently announced its 2021 Community Arts Grants recipients. Three $1,800 grants were awarded to the following organizations: the Azalea City Center for the Arts, Mobile Ballet and Playhouse in the Park. These funds will be used toward programming to help build accessibility to the arts in the metropolitan area. Specifically, they are helping to fund the Azalea City Center for the Arts’ “In-School Educational Concert” program, Mobile Ballet’s “Discover Dance” program and Playhouse in the Park’s “Theatre Scholarship” program.

MAC also recently announced the addition of Sydney Cramer to its staff as a program coordinator. Cramer is a native of Montgomery and has lived in Mobile since 2017 while pursuing her degree at the University of South Alabama. She will be graduating summa cum laude with a BFA in performance in May. Cramer began working with MAC in summer 2020 as an intern, has worked with various performance and visual artists in Mobile and has received recognition from The Kennedy Center for her work in performance and stage management.
