Mobile Ballet Plans The Nutcracker Events

MOBILE, Ala — The Mobile Ballet, Inc. is hosting Pancakes & Pajamas with Clara on December 3 at 9:30-11:30 a.m. at its studio in Mobile. The behind-the-scenes event offers children an opportunity to step inside the world of The Nutcracker. Participants, suggested to be aged 3-8 and dressed in festive holiday pajamas, will be able to interact with characters from the story, see dancers perform, create keepsake crafts, have an introduction to ballet and enjoy a pancake brunch. Funds raised from tickets ($20 per child and $15 per accompanying parent) will go toward Mobile Ballet’s Relevé tuition assistance fund. Mobile Ballet will perform The Nutcracker at the Mobile Civic Center Theater on December 10 at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. and December 11 at 2:30 p.m. Guest artists, including Melissa Gelfin Depoli and Rafael Quenedit of Cincinnati Ballet, Adrian Fite and Simon Plante of Ballet West, and Daniel Benavides of Orlando Ballet, will share the stage with Mobile Ballet’s ballerinas and students, with choreography by Katia Garza. Tickets are $20-$60. Discover Dance performances of The Nutcracker will be presented for K-12 school field trips on December 8 and 9 at 9:30 a.m. each day.
