Mobile Ballet Sleeping Beauty Events This Month

Mobile Ballet Co. has announced the presentation of Sleeping Beauty at the Mobile Civic Center Theater on March 23 at 7 p.m. and March 24 at 2 p.m. Both performances will feature the Mobile Ballet Orchestra playing the score live. This new, full-length adaptation by Katia Garza will include guest artists principal dancer Nayara Lopes of the Philadelphia Ballet as Princess Aurora and Daniel Benavides as Carabosse. Tickets are $22-$66. Additionally, Mobile Ballet’s Sleeping BeauTea will be held on March 10 at 2-4 p.m. at its new Eastern Shore Studio at 26150 Equity Drive in Daphne. Guests of all ages at this fantastical fairy tale tea party will enjoy treats, a special performance by Sleeping Beauty cast members, story time, photo opportunities and activities, a raffle and more. Presented by the Mobile Ballet Barre volunteer association, this event raises funds for the Relevé Project, Mobile Ballet’s tuition-assistance program established to help reduce financial burdens that prevent children from accessing dance training. Tickets are $35 for children 12 and under and $25 for those older than 12.
