Mobile Ballet To Kick Off Season With Dracula

Mobile Ballet will kick off its 2026-2027 season with an all-new production of Dracula on October 24 at 7:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile. "Working with guest choreographer Raul Peinado on this production has been an incredible experience, and I think audiences are going to see Dracula in a whole new light," says Artistic Director Katia Garza. Inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic tale, the production aims to bring the gothic drama to life through classical and contemporary ballet. Daniel Benavides will perform the title role and be joined by guest artist Andres Castillo as Jonathan Harker and Israel Rodriguez as Van Helsing. Mobile Ballet dancers Natalie Crepeau and Aubree Cate Joiner will dance the roles of Lucy and Mina. Guest artists Felipe Valentini, Zion Harris, Jackson Borowski and Humberto Ramazzina will play the Four Suitors, with the remaining roles danced by members of Mobile Ballet. Tickets range from $25 to $69. Guests may start their evening early with Bite Before the Ballet, Mobile Ballet’s VIP pre-show reception kicking off the new season next door at the Mobile Arts Council’s Room 1927 from 5:30-7 p.m. Sponsored and catered by Aloha Hospitality, the reception will feature themed cocktails, a meet-and-greet with cast and a contest for the best Dracula-inspired attire.
