Mobile Native Wins Grammy

Songwriter and producer Rogest Carstarphen, Jr., known as “Rosco,” is a Mobile native who took home a Grammy last weekend for his work as coproducer on Jonathan McReynolds’ “Movin’ On,” which won Best Gospel Performance/Song, according to NBC15. Carstarphen was asked to work on the song by a Chicago producer. Carstarphen has been honing his craft as an artist and producer for nearly 20 years. His manager called him the first music producer from Mobile to win a Grammy. Carstarphen is also in the process of working with two well-known R&B artists on new projects.
