Mobile Symphony Orchestra Back Together for Christmas

The Mobile Symphony Orchestra’s annual Christmas concert, “A Bountiful Holiday,” is taking place on December 12-13 at the Saenger Theatre. Four performances, each lasting approximately 1 h without intermission, are offered at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. This will be the first time since the pandemic began that the symphony will incorporate woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings and keyboards. Social-distancing methods will involve various orchestra sections performing independently and rotating onstage throughout the program. It includes “A Christmas Festival,” “Carol of the Bells,” selections from The Nutcracker Suite, excerpts from Christmas Oratorio, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “Let it Snow” and “Sleigh Ride.” Tickets are $15-82 and $10 for students.
