MSYO Announces Season Finale Concerts

The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (MSYO) season finale will feature student musicians from around the Gulf Coast under the direction of acclaimed international conductor Dr. Iván del Prado on May 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Saenger Theatre Mobile. The regional youth orchestra, which draws students from three states and 18 schools, will perform works by Modest Mussorgsky, Carl Maria von Weber, Alexander Borodin and Mexican composer Arturo Marquez. MSYO Concerto Competition winner and Fairhope High School junior Addison Vontrobaand will give the featured performance of “Concertino for Clarinet No. 1” by von Weber. Admission is $10 for students and $20 for adults when purchased in advance and $25 at the door. MSYO will also perform its free annual Mother’s Day Concert on May 12 at 5:30 p.m. at Medal of Honor Park on Hillcrest Road in West Mobile.
