MSYO Season Finale Announced

MOBILE, Ala. — The Mobile Symphony Youth Orchestra’s (MSYO) season finale will showcase student musicians from across the Gulf Coast under the direction of acclaimed international conductor Dr. Iván del Prado on May 1 at 2:30 p.m. at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile. The regional youth orchestra draws students from three states and 18 schools. The concert includes works by Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Edward Elgar and Jean Sibelius and features performances by the MSYO Concerto Competition winners. The Concerto Competition is an opportunity for outstanding high school musicians to earn the privilege of performing as a featured soloist with a full orchestra. The winners, Daphne High School senior Dominic Luthje and Alabama School of Math and Science senior Holt Templeton, were selected by a panel of professional musicians not affiliated with MSYO. Admission is $10 for students and $20 for adults when purchased in advance, or $25 at the door.
