Oakleigh Holding Combination Event

The Historic Oakleigh House Museum in Mobile will host a free book signing, one-act play, unveiling and more on October 24 at 1:30, weather permitting, the Historic Mobile Preservation Society announced. Author Mary S. Palmer will be on hand to sign her recently published Boyington Oak: A Grave Injustice, and her play, Remembrances: Charles R.S. Boyington, will be performed by the Joe Jefferson Players outside on the Oakleigh balcony. “A Discussion with Descendants and Characters at Serda Brewing” and the unveiling of the new Boyington Oak Marker will follow. Concerning the marker, Palmer explained, “With the help of the Historic Mobile Preservation Society, we were awarded a grant from the William Pomeroy Foundation to replace the marker on Boyington’s grave site, missing since 1971.” October 25 has been designated a make-up day in case of rain.
