Poetry Anthology Celebration Coming To MAC

The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) is presenting a celebration of the launch of We Did It First, an anthology showcasing the voices of more than 50 local writers, on April 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the MAC Gallery at Room 1927 adjacent to Saenger Theatre Mobile. It will honor the release of the collection, curated by Mobile’s poet laureate, Charlotte Pence. Through poetry and storytelling, the book aims to capture the essence of southern life, from the rustling of ancient oaks to the power of family traditions, love and loss. The cover was designed by local visual artist Patrick Hurley. Attendees to the free event may meet contributing poets, hear live readings and celebrate the local literary arts.
