Porter to Join MSO For “Strings Attached”

The Mobile Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is hosting violinist Simone Porter for “Strings Attached,” a concert featuring Felix Mendelssohn’s landmark violin concerto and Robert Schumann’s Third Symphony, on March 9 at 7:30 p.m. and March 10 at 2:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile. The highlight of the concert will be Porter’s performance of Mendelssohn’s concerto. Porter has been recognized as an emerging artist of impassioned energy, interpretive integrity and vibrant communication. She has debuted with the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and several renowned conductors. Born in 1996, Porter made her professional solo debut at age 10 with the Seattle Symphony and her international debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London at age 13. In March 2015, she was named a recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant. Three-concert season memberships are $53-$216, and student tickets are $10.
