Quilting Workshop Announced For Fairhope

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — The Eastern Shore Art Center (ESAC) in Fairhope is offering an exploration of naturally dyed, hand-pieced quilts with Instructor Aaron Sanders Head on July 22-23 at 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day. On day one, participants will learn about natural dyes and indigo and shibori techniques to create patterns on fabric. The textiles dyed with unique shades of solid blue on the first day will then be combined with varying fabric scraps to create quilts on day two. This day will include the basics of hand-piecing techniques, with a focus on the traditional approach of foundation string piecing. The price is $275 ($250 for ESAC members).
