UM Announces School Of The Arts Schedule

The University of Mobile (UM) has announced its 2024-2025 Alabama School of the Arts season. Fall semester events begin today at 7 p.m. with the school’s Worship Choir presenting gospel-centered music from the Brooklyn Tabernacle Church. On October 17-19 at 7 p.m. and on October 20 at 3 p.m., the school will present the Broadway musical Anastasia. The concert “Symphonic Winds” will be held on October 22 at 7 p.m. “Jazz Band: Rhapsody in Blue” will be held on October 29 at 7 p.m. “Piano Pop’s” is the Piano Ensemble’s fall concert, taking place on November 5 at 7 p.m. All proceeds from the $11 admission will support the school’s Young Artists Program for it to support the emerging talents of UM students studying in undergraduate and graduate programs. Funds raised in 2024 will help fund a trip to Carnegie Hall in March 2025. The Christmas Spectacular will be held on November 21 and 22 at 7 p.m., November 23 at 2 p.m. and November 24 at 4 p.m. Admission is $19.50 to $60 in advance here. It will feature more than 200 music, theater and production students from around the world. The Boar’s Head Festival will be held on December 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. featuring a themed dinner music, theater and a short performance of The Second Shepherd’s Play.” Admission will be $55. All events except for the Christmas Spectacular (being held at Cottage Hill Baptist Church) will take place at the Lonnie & Lynne Burnett Event Center.
