2U Tire Is Alabama Launchpad Finalist

DAPHNE, Ala. — Daphne-based mobile tire and wheel service 2U Tire of Alabama has announced it is a finalist for Alabama Launchpad’s Session 1 competition, to be held in Mobile on April 28 at Innovation Portal in Mobile. Scott Blair, cofounder and 29-year automotive veteran, helped start the business five years ago in Daphne to save time for busy individuals and overworked fleet managers. The company operates out of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van that allows its certified technicians to provide mounting and precision balancing for most passenger vehicles, boat trailers, RVs, exotic sports cars, golf carts and fleet trucks up to 1-½ T. It has been preparing to scale and is hoping Alabama Launchpad can help. The company has also launched T.R.A.C.K. Auto Training, a full-scale technical training center, also in Daphne, for managers and technicians. It is the only company south of Birmingham to be in the statewide contest, Blair added.
