SAC Accepting Innovation Test Track Submissions

The 2021 Southern Automotive Conference (SAC) is giving companies with a new technology, innovative product or service valuable to the automotive industry the opportunity to earn a cash award and exposure to both investors and decision makers with automotive companies throughout the Southeast through the Innovation Test Track Competition, according to Business Alabama. The pitch competition is accepting applications through July 15. To enter, applicants should submit an executive summary. Judges will review the summaries and select four finalists, who will make pitches at the conference on October 14. Judges will choose a winner, who will take home a $10,000 cash prize and receive a complimentary booth in the SAC exhibit hall and an advertisement in Southern Automotive Alliance. The judges for this year’s Innovation Test Track are Richard Davies, director of ORNL’s sustainable transportation program; Ken Gould, Porsche Cars North America e-mobility technical systems engineer; Rusty Kruciak, principal and vice president of mergers and acquisitions at 2nd Generation Capital; Amy Moffatt, senior manager of Operations Management Development Division at Toyota North America; and Heather Woods, project engineer at Dynetics Inc. SAC, in its 14th year, will be held on October 13-15 in Birmingham.
