APCO, Powerco Merge

APCO Employees Credit Union, the second-largest credit union in Alabama, with two branches in Mobile, has merged with Atlanta-based Powerco Federal Credit Union, AL.com announced. APCO is the largest state-chartered credit union in Alabama with approximately 73,000 members, 20 branches and more than $3 billion in assets. Powerco will now operate as “Powerco Credit Union, a division of APCO Employees Credit Union.” Derrick Ragland, APCO president and CEO, said the merger will allow its customers more access to more financial services across Alabama, as well as in Georgia and Mississippi. Both credit unions will work toward a full systems conversion by the end of 2024.
