New Horizons Earns Veterans Save Designation

Mobile-based New Horizons Credit Union has earned the Veterans Saves Designation of Savings Excellence award for efforts in financial education stressing the importance of saving during National Veterans Saves Week. This honor is reserved for financial institutions that succeed in getting people to open or add to wealth-building accounts and take the pledge to save. “Our Credit Union serves a community which has a large Coast Guard presence, as well as other armed services to whom we are truly grateful. We are proud to support National Veterans Saves Week and advocate financial literacy and saving,” said President/CEO Edith Franklin. To further the savings initiative, New Horizons partners with GreenPath Financial Wellness to offer free budgeting resources, webinars and debt-management tools designed to develop savings goals and build credit. Additionally, it offers a Horizons Heroes program that offers moneysaving perks to active military and first responders.
