Silverhill Couple Wins PenAir Competition

PenAir Credit Union has announced the winners of its 2024-25 NOW Program, a seven-month competition designed to help participants boost savings and reduce debt. Pete and Carolyn DiPaolo, a retired couple from Silverhill, took first place and received a $10,000 cash prize. By pairing participants with certified financial counselors, the program aims to provide personalized coaching, encouragement and the tools needed to build financial confidence. The DiPaolos joined two other families—the Randolph family of Loxley and Essie Harrington of Pensacola—who spent seven months working alongside PenAir coaches to reduce their debt, raise their credit scores and grow their savings. With the support and guidance of their PenAir coach, J.M. Parker, the DiPaolos had increased their savings by 500% by the end of the program. The Randolphs and Harrington received cash prizes of $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.
