Alabama Launchpad Submissions Period Coming Up

The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama will kick off its first cycle of entries for Alabama Launchpad 2021 on February 1, Business Alabama recently reported. This marks the 15th year for the startup competition, which will see some changes. First, more emphasis will be put on mentoring Alabama’s entrepreneurs, winners or not. Also, all competition finalists will have advisors and presentation coaches, who will work with them on their final pitch before judges. Concept winners will receive $25,000, and seed-stage winners will receive $50,000. So far, the competition has awarded $5.6 million to 100 Alabama companies. Last summer, Mobile-based Startup Fido Technologies LLC, which recently launched Barkd, was a finalist (Fido Launches Puppy-Finding App Barkd).
