Fido of Mobile A Finalist For $50,000

The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama has picked seven finalists for its Alabama Launchpad 2020 program, Business Alabama recently announced. Among them is startup Fido Technologies LLC, headquartered on Myrtle Avenue in Mobile, which soft-launched its mobile application, Barkd, this summer (Fido Launches Puppy-Finding App Barkd). The final competition will take place on November 19 and feature two stages: concept and seed. Fido is competing against three other companies for $50,000 in the former stage. Finalists will pitch their companies to a panel of judges from across Alabama, with all being streamed on Alabama Launchpad and its Facebook page. The program has funded 98 startups with $5 million in funding since 2006.
