gBETA Gulf Coast Names Program Manager

gener8tor’s gBETA Gulf Coast, which is coming to Mobile in February, has a new program manager, Mike Ozburn. Ozburn has held various executive positions with companies large and small in the software, hardware and communications industries. He has led teams that developed the SurfBoard cable modem, launched nationwide wireless Internet services with Nextel and developed an early emergency notification system for schools and large enterprises. Since leading the broadband effort for the Governor of North Carolina as an executive advisor for NC Connect in 2014-2022, he has been devoted to efforts that would bring broadband services and associated economic development to unserved and underserved areas. Ozburn holds a law degree from the University of Georgia and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has lived in Mobile since 2019. Applications for gBETA Gulf Coast are open in preparation for its kickoff on February 29.
