Innovation Portal Announces Unlock Alabama

Unlock Alabama is a free 8-week online cohort for Alabama residents ages 18-29 who want to build a business, product or new way of thinking. Backed by a $300,000 grant from Innovate Alabama and built by Mobile’s Innovation Portal, the team says it gives “builders the curriculum, community and accountability to actually ship something.” It tested the curriculum with five interns and recorded their experiences, with one even building a 3D-printed EpiPen case. Applications are open, and the cohort kicks off in May. Innovation Portal is also looking for builders, guides and sponsors.
